PLATYCERIUM BIFURCATUM -STAGHORN FERN - MEDIUM SIZE
LONG TIME FAVORITE. NATURALLY GROWS ON BARK OR TREE BRANCHES- BUT IT IS PERFECTLY HAPPY IN A POT.
Has 2 different types of fronds. One that grows outward from the base giving it its' name (Staghorn) and the other that cups the area where it's rooted which eventually forms it a nest to catch nutrients.
Can grow to an impressive size with little care.
Can be grown in soil, moss, peat or attached to a tree. Should be dunked or watered once a week in a solution of water and fertilizer. In dry /hot climate they thrive when the fronds are misted daily. Really easy to care for.
COLD HARDINESS: 9-11
CURRENTLY GROWING IN 5" POT- THIRD PICTURE IS OF AVERAGE SIZE PLANT FOR SALE
