Myrciaria cauliflora - Brazilian grape tree, Jaboticaba
The evergreen jaboticaba is native to the coastal forests and hilly regions of southern Brazil. Also can find in Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina.
Has good water tolerance
The tree is well adapted for growth in South Florida and produces profusely and several times a year.
It is normally singled-trunked and low branching.
Fruit development is very speedy, usually 20 to 25 days from flower to full maturity.Very high vitamin C content. Fruit is usually eaten fresh or made into jelly, juice or wine.
Makes a great landscape shrub, tree or hedge. Does well & fruits kept in large container.
Trees transplants well
Grows rather slow. Great for bonsai
Mature height:16 feet.
